Are you suffering from a broken tooth, a cracked tooth, or any missing teeth? If so, you’ve come to the right place! One of our jobs, here in our Boca Raton dental office, is to get and keep your teeth at full function.
This kind of repair work is called restorative dentistry, and it comes in many forms.
What Harris Dentistry Can Offer You
There are many ways in which teeth can be damaged and just as many ways to fix them.
Crowns | Crowns are essentially a synthetic tooth cap. They are used when the enamel is too compromised to provide adequate protection for the rest of the tooth. A synthetic crown can seal the inner tooth away from dangerous particles, give you a new biting surface, and restore the look and feel of your tooth.
Bridges | Bridges are a variation on the crown and work in much the same way. When you are missing one or more teeth, a bridge of connected crowns can span that gap. They are anchored to the adjacent teeth for a secure, restorative hold.
Traditional Dentures | If you are missing most or all of your teeth, we are able to provide a complete replacement for you. These sets of teeth are customized to perfectly fit your mouth and to look exactly like natural teeth.
Implant-supported Dentures | Adhesive isn’t the only way to attach dentures, these days. The implant supports provide a number of more secure, permanent options for your dentures.
Root Canal | A root canal procedure can restore a tooth from severe pain to full function. Infected material is removed and replaced with a biocompatible supplement that allows you to use your tooth once again.
Dental Implants | Another option for a missing tooth or teeth is the dental implant. This method entirely replaces the lost tooth with a synthetic one, from root to crown. This option is great not only for its durability and longevity but for its ability to keep your jaw and gums healthy around the implant post.
Tools and Technology
In this modern day and age, many of these restoration techniques are faster, easier, and more effective than they’ve ever been before.
CEREC machines allow us to mill crowns and bridges while you wait, and we do it right here in the office. Digital cameras, x-rays, and software help us get the best views of your mouth, inside and out. Computers can help us plan surgeries and procedures with precision.
