Modern technology has revolutionized dentistry in ways that benefit both doctors and patients. At Harris Dentistry, we’re proud to make some of this amazing equipment available right here in Boca Raton.
CEREC machines dramatically cut down your wait time for crowns, bridges, and veneers by milling them right here in the office. You’ll no longer have to go home in between appointments to wait for your dentalware to be crafted in a lab. We can get you in and out in one convenient appointment.
This comes with no diminishment in quality, either. CEREC-milled dental appliances look, feel, and work like your natural teeth always have.
The jump to digital has changed art, music, writing, communication, and even space exploration. Dentistry has not been left out. Digital x-rays have a number of advantages over traditional film.
- Digital x-rays require less radiation.
- Digital images can be processed and viewed almost instantly.
- Digital files can be transferred and stored quickly and with minimum hassle.
- Digital files can be manipulated on a screen to zoom in, zoom out, turn, or enhance parts of the image.
With digital x-rays, we are able to keep a close eye on your roots, spot problem areas, and understand the underlying structure of your mouth all while you’re still sitting there in the dental chair.
Intraoral cameras are amazing tools that film the inside of your mouth. Anything a dentist can see with a mirror, an intraoral camera can see closer and in higher definition.
With these cameras, we can get up close and personal with your teeth and gums. We are able to check dental work, search for problems, and even scan your mouth to make a complete digital mold.
Why does a dentist need a CT scanner? What does it actually do?
We hear these questions a lot. After all, we’ve got x-rays and cameras. What else is there? For one thing, CT scanners can actually see soft tissue (like your muscles) and hard tissue (like bone) at the same time. X-rays don’t do soft tissue very well.
Another benefit to a CT is that they can be used in a cone shape. This cone shape crafts a 3D image of your facial structures, which will always be more informative than 2D.
We hope you’re as excited about all of this great technology as we are. For any questions, or to schedule an appointment, give us a call today!
